Driver Falls Asleep, Rear-Ends Truck on I-80

State PoliceUNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Dubois-based State Police responded to a crash on Interstate 80 in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say this crash occurred at 6:45 a.m. on November 10, 2015 as two vehicles were traveling westbound on I-80 at mile marker 57.7.

According to police, 45-year-old David Tucco, of North Webster, IN fell asleep at the wheel of his 1994 Honda Accord and struck the rear-end of a 2011 GMC Sierra driven by 54-year-old Gary Cooper Sr., of Brookville.

After impact, both vehicles crossed into the left lane.

Cooper continued into the median where he came to final rest and Tucco came to rest on the left berm of the left lane.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured in the crash.
