Driver Flees After Hit-and-Run Accident, Vehicle Found Disabled Miles from Scene

Blue flashing sirens of police car during the roadblock in the cBELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a hit-and-run accident on Troutville Road in Bell Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, around 10:00 p.m. 27-year-old Paul M. Simanic, of DuBois, was traveling south on Troutville Road.

Police say Simanic was allegedly traveling too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway.

The vehicle, a 1998 Dodge Dakota, left the northbound berm and struck a culvert with the front of the vehicle. The rear struck a retaining wall.

Police say Simanic allegedly left the scene of the accident. His vehicle was found disabled several “miles from the scene.”

Simanic sustained minor injuries in the accident and was not wearing a seat belt.
