DuBois Woman Found Passed Out, Under the Influence in Vehicle in McKean County

MCKEAN COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — A local woman was arrested after she was found passed out on drugs in a vehicle with three children in McKean County.

According to a report released by PSP Lewis Run on Tuesday, March 26, troopers conducted a “mere encounter” with a 2007 Acura that was pulled off in a parking lot near State Route 219 and State Route 59, in Lafayette Township, McKean County, at 10:14 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.

Police say the operator was found unconscious with juveniles unbuckled in the vehicle.

The operator was identified as 28-year-old Stephanie Scanlon, of DuBois.

Scanlon was also under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested for DUI and related offenses, police said.

According to court documents, Scanlon was charged with the following in District Judge David Engman’s office:

– DUI: Controlled Substance – Impaired Ability – 1st Offense, Misdemeanor 1
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2 (three counts)
– Marijuana-Small Amt Personal Use, Misdemeanor
– Use/Poss Of Drug Paraph, Misdemeanor (two counts)
– Restraint Systems – Child Booster Seat, Summary
– Safety Restraints – child under 2 years, Summary
– Fail to use safety belt – driver and front seat occupant, Summary
– Safety Restraints – child under 4 years, Summary

He was arraigned at 1:22 a.m. on March 4 in front of Judge Engman.

He was lodged in the McKean County Jail until he posted $25,000 bail through a professional bondsman on March 15.

The above charges were waived for court during a preliminary hearing on March 7.

This case has been transferred to the Court of Common Pleas.
