East Forest School Announces Valedictorian, Salutatorian

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – East Forest School has announced its 2018 Valedictorian and Salutatorian.

Shawn Claypoole, valedictorian, is the son of Jennifer Claypoole and Michael Claypoole, of Marienville.

Shawn was in the Top 25 Academic Students, played varsity baseball, and is a member of FCCLA, the Ski Club, Varsity Club, and Foreign Language Club. He was a Student Council Representative for the Class of 2018, and was also involved in the community youth group and had been employed part-time.

Shawn received the Presidential Education Gold Award and the Academic Athletic Award. He was also awarded the Imagine America Scholarship.

He has been accepted to Triangle Tech.

Emily Everett, salutatorian, is the daughter of Rosey Everett and Norman Everett, both of Marienville.

Emily is the National Honor Society President, Mini Relay Club President, Student Council Vice President, and member of the Varsity Club, FCCLA, SADD, Ski Club, and Forest County Relay for Life Team. She was in the Top 25 Academic Students.

Emily played varsity basketball and soccer; she was Homecoming Queen; and she was Alter Server at church.

She received the Presidential Academic Gold Award, Academic Athletic Award, Sen. Scott Hutchinson Good Citizenship Award, Female Sportsmanship Award, KSAC Female Scholar-Athlete Award, and had perfect attendance for the last nine years.

Emily was awarded the Forest County Township Association Scholarship, Katie M. Edmondson Scholarship, Carbaugh Memorial Scholarship, Alumni Association Scholarship, Veteran’s Club Scholarship, Lion’s Club Scholarship, VanNort Scholarship, Sports Boosters Scholarship, and the William E. Snyder Scholarship.

She has been accepted to Slippery Rock University, majoring in Physical Activity and Fitness Management.
