Eastern League Moves Mid-July Hartford/Altoona Series to Altoona; Admission Will be Free

CURVE, Pa. – The Eastern League announced on Friday that the Altoona Curve’s series against the Hartford Yard Goats originally scheduled to be played in Hartford from July 18-20 has been moved to Altoona’s Peoples Natural Gas Field.

The league has relocated the series due to the delayed opening of Hartford’s Dunkin’ Donuts Park. The two teams will now be off on Monday, July 18, and begin the series on Tuesday, July 19 at 4 p.m. in Altoona.

The series will conclude on Wednesday, July 20 with a double-header comprised of two seven-inning games beginning at 1 p.m. Hartford will be the “home” team and bat in the bottom half of each inning.

The games will be free for fans to attend with seating available in the Toyota Diamond Club lower seating bowl sections on a first-come, first-serve basis. No tickets will be required.

The VIP Gate behind home plate will open 30 minutes prior to first pitch. Free parking will also be available at the stadium on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Limited concessions will be available for purchase on the lower concourse.

According to a story in the Hartford Courant, the Yard Goats may not play a home game this season because of construction delays on their stadium that has led to the termination of the developer.
