meth-bust-mugs-february-2016CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A lengthy investigation has resulted in charges against eight people accused of purchasing ingredients to help a Clarion County man manufacture methamphetamine.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Clarion County Chief Detective William Peck, IV, on February 2, 2017, at Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office, the investigation was initiated after a search warrant was executed at the residence of Teddy K. Wensel in April of 2016.

The search warrant alleged that Wensel had been manufacturing methamphetamine at his 75 North 4th Avenue residence in Clarion Borough.

On April 15, 2016, around 9:30 a.m., the warrant was served by the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team (CLRT) and Clarion County Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET).

Wensel and a second resident – Melisa Louise Trivett – were detained at the scene while the search was conducted.

During the search, authorities located a glass jar containing methamphetamine and two pipes, according to the criminal complaint.

Wensel Interviewed at DA’s Office

Later that day, Wensel signed a Miranda Rights waiver form and agreed to an interview.

During the interview, Wensel stated that he started “cooking meth” in December of 2014 at a residence in Turkey City, Clarion County.

Wensel disclosed that he manufactured methamphetamine using the “one-pot” method and admitted to “cooking” earlier that week.

The criminal complaint states that Wensel told Detective Peck he “started to cook” to help a friend who was having financial difficulties while on house arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, Wensel told Detective Peck that the first time he cooked meth, he gathered 10 boxes of Sudafed that were purchased by various individuals.

Wensel then disclosed the identities of several individuals who allegedly purchased Sudafed or other items used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Deanna Wright

Wensel stated that he “cooked meth” at Wright’s trailer in Oakwood Trailer Court approximately thirty times. He said that Wright’s trailer is where he “had his first fire” and indicated that the carpet in the bedroom was still burnt. Wensel stated that Wright helped him crush pills and assisted in the clean-up portion of the process. He also indicated that Wright purchased boxes of Sudafed and batteries on numerous occasions. Wensel said the last time Wright “bought pills” for him was April of 2016.

Further investigation revealed that Wright allegedly purchased nine boxes of Sudafed between November of 2014 and April of 2016.

Conner Griffith

Wensel indicated that Griffith purchased three to four boxes of Sudafed for him in December of 2015, according to the criminal complaint.

In return, Wensel would allegedly provide Griffith with methamphetamine. Wensel also stated that Griffith gave him money to purchase supplies needed to manufacture methamphetamine, the complaint continues.

Kassie Deloe

Wensel indicated that Deloe provided two boxes of Sudafed in August of 2015. In return, he would allegedly provide Deloe with methamphetamine. Wensel also told Detective Peck that he sold methamphetamine to Deloe on other occasions, the complaint states.

Further investigation revealed that Deloe allegedly purchased Sudafed twice in July of 2015, the complaint indicates.

Angel Warner

Wensel said Warner purchased a box of Sudafed for him in early 2015, according to the complaint.

Further investigation revealed that Warner allegedly purchased one box of Sudafed in January of 2015, the complaint continues.

Tearia J. Bailey

Wensel told Detective Peck that Bailey purchased three to four boxes of Sudafed for him between January of 2015 and March of 2015. He said that he would pay Bailey for the boxes she purchased, and she “knew what he was doing with the boxes,” according to the complaint.

Further investigation revealed that Bailey allegedly purchased two boxes of Sudafed between January of 2015 and March of 2015, the complaint states.

Robert and Jerry Ashbaugh

Wensel said that Robert and Jerry Ashbaugh purchased three boxes of Sudafed for him in early 2016, and they were present when he cooked the methamphetamine, the complaint indicates.

Further investigation revealed that Robert Ashbaugh allegedly purchased Sudafed once and Jerry Ashbaugh purchased Sudafed twice. All three purchases occurred in January of 2016, the complaint continues.

Melisa Trivett

Wensel indicated that Trivett purchased Sudafed seven times from January of 2016 through April of 2016. Trivett was Wensel’s live-in girlfriend at the time.
