Ellen L. Bishop, 68, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Monday September 13, 2021 at the Brookville Hospital.
She was born November 26, 1952 to Harold E. and Hilda (Shields) Stuck in Indiana.
Ellen was a longtime active member of The Salvation Army of Punxsutawney.
She graduated from the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing.
Ellen started her career as a nurse working at Indiana and DuBois Hospitals before working for the Punxsutawney Area Hospital where she worked her way up to nursing supervisor. She primarily worked nightshift, where she would oversee all nursing departments in the hospital. Ellen stepped away from nursing after working 35 years at the hospital.
Her church and her family were the most important things to her.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Bishop, Punxsutawney, two sons. Eric Bishop and wife Marie, Punxsutawney, Matt Bishop and wife Teresa, Ellwood City, three grandchildren, Carson, Tyson and Susann Adalyn Bishop. a brother David Shields, Rossiter, and a sister Mary Stamler and husband John, Cleveland, OH
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Karen Ishman and Donna Gallagher.
Friends will be received on Friday from 3-7 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
Friends will also be received on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Lt. Candice Horsman.
Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, PA
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army of Punxsutawney, 229 West Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
