Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance Recognized as Partner of the Year

partner-of-the-yearDuring the recent Annual Membership Meeting of the non-profit Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry and Tourism held in Reno, Pennsylvania, the 2015 “Partner of the Year Award” was presented to the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance, Inc. In addition, EPTA received a Pennsylvania Senatorial Resolution congratulating them for this honor; the resolution was delivered by Senator Scott Hutchinson.

The Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance, Inc. (EPTA) is an active coalition of trail organizations and individuals dedicated to the promotion, acquisition, development, and maintenance of a safe non-motorized trails network that connects the ‘Point’ in Pittsburgh to the ‘Bayfront’ in Erie. Of the envisioned 270-mile system, over 60% of the mileage is already constructed and open for free year-round use by bicyclists, hikers, photographers, anglers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. This award was presented in recognition of the ongoing sharing of common purposes, information, and mutual projects involving the Oil Region Alliance (based in Venango and eastern Crawford Counties) and the EPTA which stretches through seven counties of western Pennsylvania and western New York. Ever since the 2007 establishment of the EPTA, a strong partnership has existed and is anticipated to continue for years to come.

Accepting the award on behalf of EPTA was their President, Ron Steffey of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; Mr. Steffey is employed as administrator of the Allegheny Valley Land Trust including the Armstrong Trail and the Redbank Valley Trail.
