Evelyn L. Ishman, 77 of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ishman was born March 17, 1937 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Elmer and Jennie (Wachob) Shields. August 3, 2010 she was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Ishman.
Evelyn was a member of Cloe United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Womens Society.
She was very active in the Mahoning Hills Senior Center and was a bookeeper for her husbands contracting business, but above all a homemaker and grandma who loved being with her family and
grandchildren.
She is survived by her son; Ernie R. Ishman and wife Ruth of Selingsgrove, a daughter; Fonda E. Knox and husband Keith of Rochester Mills, sister; Janet Billett of Punxsutawney, grandchildren; Keli Ishman, Keri Ishman, Candi Knox, Steven Knox and Fiancee’ Jill Ploucha. In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by a sister; Clara Jane Pierce.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. & 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Private interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
