Fire Guts Perry Township Home; $200,000 in Damage Reported

PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Officials have released additional information on a fire that destroyed a Perry Township home on Saturday.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated a structure fire that occurred at 8044 Sprankle Mills Road on Jan. 27.

Fire crews were dispatched to the residence around 4:40 p.m. for a report of a structure fire.

Police said a resident of the home, a 28-year-old Punxsutawney man, reported the fire after observing smoke inside the structure.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the home, which was insured, sustained damage totaling $200,000.00.

The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
