Fire Destroys Union Township Home; $300k in Damages Estimated

UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Officials say a fire destroyed a Union Township, Jefferson County home causing approximately $300,000 in damage.

Corsica Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at 1968 Roseville-Sigel Road around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Officials say the fire destroyed a 43′ x 30′ 2-story wood frame home.

Following an investigation by the PA State Police Fire Marshal and Corsica VFD, the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.

Investigators traced the cause of the fire to a problem with a flue pipe in a wood burning stove.

No one was injured in the blaze.
