Three People Suffer Major Injuries in One-Vehicle Crash in Pinecreek Township

PINECREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, four people were injured in a one-vehicle crash on April 11 on Interstate 80, in Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. on April 11, as Sharon Atkinson, 54, of Brooklyn, NY, was traveling westbound in the left-hand lane of Interstate 80.

Atkinson’s 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe went off the south side of the roadway and struck the guide rail; the vehicle then came back onto the roadway and began to slide, police say.

The vehicle slid across the left and right lanes of I-80 as it spun 180 degrees, according to police.

It then rolled onto its driver’s side and continued to slide until it came to a rest against the guide rail on the northern berm of the roadway, police say.

Atkinson and two of her passengers – Kimberly Petters, 51, of Brooklyn, NY, and Mone Green, 26, of Brooklyn, NY – suffered major injuries in the collision.

A third passenger – Quadia Barnes, 33, of Brooklyn, NY – sustained moderate injuries.

Jefferson County EMS and Reynoldsville EMS responded to the scene of the accident.

Atkinson and her passengers were treated at Penn Highlands Brookville and UPMC Altoona.
