Frank James. “Jim” Vandervort

Frank James. “Jim” Vandervort, 84, of Knoxdale Road, passed away on Thursday February 10, 2022 at the home of his daughter Sonia in Clearfield.

He was born May 03, 1937 to Boyd W. and Laura Jane (Manners) Vandervort in Punxsutawney.

Jim was a veteran of the Korean War, Serving with the United States Army.

Jim was a Graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School in 1959.

He married H. Louise Fox, November 3, 1965. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage before her passing January 24, 2014.

He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles Club, Jim was a jack of all trades, He was excellent at autobody, he worked various jobs, He worked at P&N Coal, retired from Goodwill industries in 1999.

After being retired for two months, Jim started working for the Brookville School District for 20 years, retiring in August of 2019 at the age of 82.

He enjoyed watching the Steelers and WWF wrestling.

He loved spending time with his family, and his special dog Huggie Monster.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan M. Christian and husband James, Punxsutawney, Sheila M. Hartless and husband Ronald, NC, Sonia M. Dixon and husband Bill, Clearfield, four grandchildren, Kara Hollenbaugh and James Brugman, Reynoldsville, Kristy Weaver and husband Shane, Big Run, Jenna Adams and Bobby Carr, Hamilton, Shealynn O’Harah and husband Andrew, Big Run, Olexis Hartless and spouse Brittany, Gettysburg, Isaac Hartless, Alaska, twelve great grandchildren, Brent, Makayla, Violet, Mark, Aaleigh, Camden, Leyton, Payson, Paxton, Abree, Jackson, De-Ja, two sisters, Alice Kriner and husband Frank, Barbara Anne Vandervort and his K-9 compainion, Huggie Monster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Amber R. Zeedick, a sister Mary Depp, and two brothers, Nathaniel “Si” Vandervort and Adrian Vandervort.

Friends will be recieved on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at McCabe Funeral Home Inc, 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Center Hill Cemetery, Brookville, PA
