Fredrick Karl Chambers

Fredrick Karl Chambers, 63, of Smicksburg, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at home.

He was born on March 11, 1952 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Fredrick Lee and Betty Jane (Salsgiver) Chambers.

He was a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. Following graduation, he went on to attend the Lincoln School of Welding.

Mr. Chambers was a member and worked for Local #354 Plumbers and Pipefitters.

He enjoyed socializing at the Eagles #1231 in Punxsutawney, where he also played a serious game of pool. He was a fun loving, free spirit that liked to laugh and be around people.

Fred treasured his daughters and his growing granchildren.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Kristi Morgan and husband Tom of Punxsutawney, Amber Chambers and T.J. Dukes of McKeesport, and Karli Chambers of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Brock and Brody Morgan, Kobii Chambers and Jarene Dukes; one brother, Martin Chambers and wife Lynn of Punxsutawney; one sister, Laura Ishman and husband Nelson of Oliveburg.

Preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Gary “Blade” Chambers.

Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with the eulogy being given by his friend, Richard B. Meehan.

Interment will be at Round Top Cemetery.
