CLEARFIELD, Pa. (GANT) – A Curwensville man will be spending up to four years in state prison for aggravated assault.

Keavon L. Chisolm, 29, pleaded guilty during sentencing court Monday and was sentenced by Judge Fredric J. Ammerman to 22 months to four years in state prison, according to information released from a court employee.
The charges stem from an incident on June 30, 2020 in Curwensville when Chisolm and the victim were involved in a fight on Filbert Street.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, when an officer arrived on the scene, he saw a man lying on the ground.
As the officer tried to talk to the victim who had blood coming out of his mouth, he was only able to breathe heavily.
The officer pulled up the victim’s arm to retrieve a shiny object, which turned out to be a cell phone, and saw that he was bleeding heavily. Emergency services were contacted.
As he was waiting for back-up, the officer saw Chisolm walking down the street toward him, yelling and throwing his arms in the air.
EMS arrived at the same time that Chisolm reached the officer. When he spoke with Chisolm at that point, Chisolm had calmed down.
Chisolm told the officer he was walking when he saw the victim through a window and yelled from the street for him to pay him the $200 he owed him.
When the victim came outside, Chisolm claimed he shoved him to the ground and put his hands around his throat.
A witness said she saw the two on the street but did not see the victim grab Chisolm’s neck, but said they were pushing back and forth before the victim was struck and fell backwards, hitting his head.
Witnesses from across the street reported they saw Chisolm kicking the victim in the head while he was down.
The victim needed to be transported by helicopter to UPMC Altoona for treatment and it was noted he suffered a seizure on the way.
When police contacted the victim’s wife a day later, she stated he had blood on his brain and was on a ventilator.
