Georgia Woman Accused of Spitting on Corrections Officers at Jefferson County Jail

    PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Georgia woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly spit on corrections officers at the Jefferson County Jail.

    Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 49-year-old Robin Ann Ballew, of Atlanta, Ga.

    According to a criminal complaint, around 2:33 a.m. on September 26, Robin Ann Ballew became irate while being transported to a booking room at the Jefferson County Jail.

    According to the complaint, Ballew knowingly and intentionally spit on three uniformed corrections officers.

    The following charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak’s office on October 1:

    – Aggravated Harassment By Prisoner, Felony 3 (three counts)

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, with Judge Bazylak presiding.

    According to court documents, Ballew was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail, in lieu of $10,000.00 (10%) monetary bail, on September 26 following arraignment in front of Judge Bazylak on one third degree misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and one summary count of public drunkenness.

    She faces a hearing on the above charges at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, with Judge Bazylak presiding.
