Geraldine M. Griebel

scan0004Geraldine M. Griebel, 85, of Miola passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 29, 1931 in Clarion; daughter of the late George and Martha Swartzfager Hepfl.

Geraldine was married to Robert Griebel on August 14, 1950 at the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lucinda, who preceded her in death.

She worked at the Owen’s Illinois Glass Plant for 27 years.

Geraldine was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion.

She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens and also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Geraldine is survived by her five children, Sandra Bell and her husband Ray Knox, Gene Griebel of Reidsville, NC, Glenn Griebel of Miola, Connie Ingham and her husband Mark of Herndon, VA, and Tracy Luden and her husband Steve of Miola, her six grandchildren, Chad, Shawn, and Jason Bell, George and Ben Ingham, and AJ Luden, her six great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Betty Hepfl of Miola.

She is also survived by her four sisters, Rita Reed of Miola, Betty Wolbert and her husband Ed of Syndersburg, Mary Nick and her husband Ron of Fryburg, and Monica Reed of Miola.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter-in-law, Linda Griebel, her four brothers, Chuck, Walt, Don, and Joe Hepfl, a sister, Pauline Stiglitz, and also three infant siblings, Georgie, Helen Sandra, and Tommy Hepfl.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion with a Christian Wake Service to be held at 8:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor presiding.

Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
