Glenn E. Nolf

Glenn E. Nolf, 82, of Mayport, died Wednesday evening, March 1, 2017 at the Clarion Hospital.

Born February 28, 1935 in Oak Ridge, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Goldie M. (Bish) Nolf.

He was married on March 10, 1961 to Margaret A. (Young).

Mr. Nolf proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, as a Communications Specialist, during the years, July 12, 1954 to July 3, 1958. He was a foreman for Novacell, Asplundh, and Davey tree companies. He worked for McCauleys trucking and he also liked to farm.

He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Margaret A. Nolf of Mayport, two sons, Glenn A. Nolf and his wife Ellie of New Bethlehem and William J. Nolf and his wife Rita of Mayport, a daughter Sally A. Swain and her husband Brian, of Schellsburg, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mae Bruster of Canton, Ohio and Ruth Hopper and her husband Herman of New Bethlehem, and a brother, John Nolf and his wife Margaret of New Bethlehem (Eddyville).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, four brother, Hilton Nolf, James Nolf, Earl Nolf and Clair Nolf, and four sisters, Grace Shirey, Mary Andrews, Eleanor Rupp and Violet Stuart.

Family and friends will be received Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 5, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the First Church of God, 418 Brian lane, New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242.

Funeral services will be held at the church, on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Hopper officiating.

Immediately following the funeral service, the Walter W. Craig Post 354 of New Bethlehem American Legion will honor their fallen comrade.

Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.

The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn is handling the arrangements.
