PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney is in the midst of its 50th annual Groundhog Festival in Barclay Square, with numerous live performances and activities planned through the event’s concluding day on July 9.
The week-long Groundhog Festival is hosting over 30 craft vendors, 19 food booths, nightly musical acts, and children’s rides and games.
The festival is running through July 9 and is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Daily activities include bake sales, face painting in the park, and children’s activities.
A schedule of this week’s remaining events includes:
Wednesday, July 6
- 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.: Diaper Derby and Tot Trot Races
- 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.; and 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Granpa Cratchet, interactive puppet
- 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: 21st Annual Community Center 5 K/2 Mile Walk
- 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Midnight Special Live – Classic Rock Live Musical Performance
Thursday, July 7
- 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Three Wheel and Scooter Races, ages 3 to 7
