Harry Daniel Dinger

Harry Daniel Dinger, 97, a guest at Brookside Senior Living, Brookville, formerly of Knox Dale, died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Brookside Senior Living.

Born Nov. 27, 1917, in Knox Dale, Harry was the son of the late John Dinger and Myrtle Brown Dinger. He was married to Lois Naomi Geist on Dec. 21, 1940 in Knox Dale. She preceded him in death in January 1982.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.

Harry was a member of the Knox Dale United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge Free and Accepted Masons in Punxsutawney.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. Himes of Brookville; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Dinger of Brookville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Everett Dinger; five sisters: Bernice Keatley, Lucille Eshbaugh, Mary Switzer, Hilda McAninch, Veda Calderwood; a son, Jay Dinger; and a close friend, Alice Moore.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Knox Dale.
