Hazmat Crews Respond to Fuel Spill in Sandy Twp.

SANDY TWP., Clearfield Co., Pa. (EYT) — Several agencies were called to the site of a fuel spill on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, Monday evening.

According to DuBois-based State Police, a 2015 Volvo D13 was driving east on I-80 near mile marker 96 when it struck an object on the road causing the object to hit the fuel tank.

The fuel tank ruptured, resulting in a fuel spill of approximately 100 gallons.

PennDOT, Eagle Hazmat and Recovery, Sandy Township EMA, and volunteer fire companies from Adrian-Sandy and Falls Creek assisted at the scene.
