Hearing Set for Three Teens Charged with Double Homicide in Indiana County

gavelINDIANA CO., Pa. – A preliminary hearing is scheduled for three teens who have been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred last week in Indiana County.

According to a published article in the Indiana Gazette, the suspects were identified as 19-year-old Justin Tyler Stevenson, 18-year-old Nathanial Ray Price, and 17-year-old Isaiah Treyvon Russell-Scott.

Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said Stevenson was taken into custody in Indiana Borough, and Price and Russell-Scott were taken into custody at their homes.

Dougherty did not release the suspects’ addresses.

The Gazette reports that authorities were dispatched around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday to 903 Hillside Drive in Cherryhill Township following a disturbance complaint. Once at the residence, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance Service discovered the bodies of 26-year-old Timothy Gardner and 20-year-old Jacquelyn Brink.

Dougherty told the Gazette that two children – ages one and three – were in the residence at the time but were unharmed. They were placed in the care of Indiana County Children and Youth Services.

Dougherty said the incident is believed to have started as a robbery. A safe was taken from the scene.

According to a criminal complaint, the three teens allegedly went to Gardner’s home to buy drugs. Russell-Scott allegedly told police that “once he saw Price and Stevenson pull out a chrome pipe and a hunting knife, he ran and didn’t see Price and Stevenson until they got into a car to leave.”

Police say the three teens drove to Glenn Campbell Borough after the murders to open the safe. Stevenson allegedly told police that he took $200.00, and Russell-Scott got marijuana. He was uncertain of what Price took.

All three were arraigned on October 27 in front of District Judge George M. Thachik.

  • Criminal Homicide, Felony 1 (two counts)

The suspects are being held in Indiana County Prison without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 8 in front of District Judge George M. Thachik.
