Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:34 p.m. on July 19, DuBois-based State Police were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress at a location on Grant Street Extension in Reynoldsville Borough.

The complaint states the victims reported Andrea Roton and Jeremy Scott Appleton a residence occupied by three juveniles via the rear door. Roton allegedly stated they were at the Jefferson County Airport, and she wasn’t leaving until she had her child.

According to the complaint, Roton stated she knew the juveniles’ parents, and she and Appleton then raided the food cabinets and sat on the couch in the residence. Roton also allegedly took an unknown amount of Gabapentin prescription pills that had been located in the kitchen of the residence. The juveniles fled the house after discovering their mother did not know Roton or Appleton.

The complaint notes Appleton ultimately fled the scene, leaving Roton behind. He entered his maroon 2009 Chevrolet Silverado as police were arriving at the scene. He was then stopped by police at Main Street and South 5th Street. According to the complaint, during the traffic stop, Appleton admitted to alcohol and drug use and was then transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for a blood draw.

Roton eventually vacated the residence and then threatened to kill a known victim and his family before retreating back into the residence, where she was eventually apprehended, according to the complaint.

The complaint also notes that both Roton and Appleton were identified by the victims.

Roton and Appleton were arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on July 19 respectively.
