Helen Marie Ferraraccio

Helen Marie Ferraraccio, 70, Carnegie, PA, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Family Hospice Palliative Care in Pittsburgh.

Born at the DuBois Hospital on March 25, 1947, Helen was the daughter of the late John Rubino and Rose Marie (Schalk) Ferraraccio.

Helen was a graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School in 1965 and attended Mercyhurst University in Erie. When Helen was just 15, she became the pianist and organist at St. Catherine of Siena for a period of time. Later, she studied at the Duquesne School of Music from which she furthered her lifelong passion of music and became an accomplished pianist, organist, and musician.

Helen began her career working for Baltimore Life in DuBois, and later for the oil and gas industry in the Carnegie area. Therefore and for many years, Helen was employed by many Catholic churches in the Pittsburgh Diocese to play the organ and/or piano at various masses, funerals, and weddings, as well as perform the duties of choir director at several of these same Catholic churches. Through her passion for music, she taught numerous students in the Pittsburgh area how to play the piano and organ. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Helen was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Helen is survived by her beloved brother, Attorney Blaise (Linda) Ferraraccio of DuBois, her cherished niece, Mrs. Marissa Denise (Kyle Culver) Ferraraccio of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and her treasured nephew, John Francis Ferraraccio.

In addition to her parents, Helen Marie was pre-deceased by a niece, Lawren Michele Ferraraccio, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Family and friends will be received by the family at the church from noon until the time of the mass. Interment will in St. Catherine Cemetery.
