Henry “Hank” Anderson

Henry “Hank” Anderson, 90, of Caledonia, died at home, January 27, 2018.

He was born February 22, 1927, in the same home, the 12th of 13, first generation, Swedish American children of his late parents Oscar Francis Anderson and Hulda Emelia Anderson.

Hank served in the US Navy European Amphibious forces as Seaman first class and Navy Reserves during WWII. He was an active lifetime member of the American Legion Post 978 since 1946, serving, among many positions, as Commander for many years. He had worked with Consolidated and Dominion Gas Companies for many years, retiring in 1989. Hank was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was well known, loved by many and lived a long and happy life.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol (Shannon) Anderson of Caledonia, PA; youngest brother, Raymond “Al” Anderson of DuBois, PA; three children, Darlene Anderson Miller of Tombstone, AZ, Valerie Cian of Andrews, SC, and Kevin Anderson of DuBois, PA; five granddaughters, Jami Anderson of Bellefonte, PA, Tami Simone of Lynchburg, VA, Hope Miller of Fells Point, MD, Heidi Cian of Clemson, SC, and Holly Cian Amann of Asheville, NC; four great grandchildren, Devon Anderson of Bellefonte, PA, Rileyann Simone, Elana Simone, and Henry Simone of Lynchburg, VA; and a step-son, Robert Harmick, Jr. of Caledonia.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by 11 siblings, a daughter Cindy Anderson, a step-son, William Paul Harmick, and his first wife and mother of his children, Dolly (Levendusky) Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 1, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, PA. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home with Reverend Missy Smith. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 978 burial detail.

Interment will take place in the Soldier Section of Morningside Cemetery, DuBois, PA.
