Hickory Grove Students Raise Over $1400 to Help Battle Cancer

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Students at Hickory Grove Elementary recently participated in the Coins for Cancer program, raising over $1400 to help battle cancer.

Coins for Cancer is part of a grade-level competition with the grade that collects the most money getting ice cream sundaes.

The winning grade level this year was 3rd grade, with a grand total of $566.63.

The following are the totals for every grade level:

– 3rd – $566.63
– 4th – $113.48
– 5th – $278.16
– 6th – $432.34
– Admin/ HG office = $37.82

The total amount raised was $1,428.43.

All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society via the girls basketball Hoops for Hope fundraiser for Relay for Life.

Hickory Grove has participated in this event for the past five years and have raised over $8,000 to help fight back against cancer.
