High School Baseball Roundup: Lindemuth Single Lifts Brockway over Curwensville

Thursday’s baseball recaps.

BROCKWAY 4, CURWENSVILLE 3

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Alex Lindemuth’s RBI single in the sixth inning gave Brockway a 4-3 win over visiting Curwensville.

The Rovers trailed 3-0 going to the bottom of the fifth but scored three times in the inning to tie the game before Lindemuth’s single an inning later gave them the lead.

Corey Carr was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Rovers.

Garret Shaw led Curwensville going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Michael Martino got the win for Brockway throwing a complete game allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits and six walks while striking out four.

RJ Olson took the loss going five-plus innings allowing four runs, all earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 8, BROOKVILLE 4

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic took advantage of nine Brookville errors, including eight over the last three innings to get an 8-4 road victory over the Raiders.

Brookville was up 4-0 going to the fifth, but the errors allowed DCC to take control of the game.

Justin Miknis, Thomas Grecco and Nick Szczerba each had two hits for the Cardinals. Brandon Walker added a two-run single in DCC’s four-run sixth inning.

Kyle Dunkle was 2-for-3 with a two-run first-inning double to lead Brookville, while Trenton Gilhousen added an RBI single in the third that put the Raiders up 4-0.

Szczerba got the win going seven innings and allowing four runs, only one earned, on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts.

Wyatt Shaffer suffered the loss going five-plus innings allowing five runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out six and walking no one.

DUBOIS 10, ST. MARYS 3

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Drew Bankovich, Zach Sloan and Nick LaBrasca combined for nine hits, six runs scored and four RBIs to help DuBois to a 10-3 road win over St. Marys.

Bankovich was 3-for-3 with a double, two walks and three runs scored. Sloan was 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored, and LaBrasca was 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs. Michael Polohonki added a pair of RBIs for the Beavers.

Nate Beimel was 3-for-4 to lead St. Marys, while Michael Beimel had two hits and an RBI.

LaBrasca got the win in relief going two innings and striking out two.

Tim Beimel took the loss.
