Hope Marie (Gilhousen) Wolfe

Hope Marie (Gilhousen) Wolfe, age 97, of Knoxdale PA, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the Brookville Hospital.

She was born on November 18, 1917, in Knox Twp., PA, to the late Roey and Emma (Bailey) Gilhousen.

She has been married for over 77 years to the love of her life, Ray M. Wolfe.

Their marriage began on December 1, 1938, in Worthville, PA.

Throughout her life she worked a few different jobs but primarily she loved to be a homemaker for her family.

She attended the Knoxdale United Methodist Church and was a past member of the Knox Twp., Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading, Jefferson County history, doing genealogy, but above all, she enjoyed her family and hearing about all they were doing.

In addition to her husband Ray, she is survived by 5 children; Stanley (JoAnn) Wolfe of Enola, PA;Virginia “Ginny” (James) Davis of Brookville, PA; Michael (Dot) Wolfe of Goodview, VA; Colleen (John) Kennedy of Mayport, PA; Patrick (Debra) Wolfe of Knoxdale, PA; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Sara, Agnes, Texas, and Madaline; 5 brothers, Paul, John, Ray, Dale, and Roy. She was also predeceased by one infant son.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by the Rev. Jerome F. Kennedy.

Interment will take place at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Knox Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
