Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 37-year-old Amanda Lynn Gauthier of Lucinda, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Craddock, the Pennsylvania State Police Troop C Vice Unit was in contact with a State Police Confidential Informant (CI) who said Amanda Lynn Gauthier was going to be traveling to an unknown location outside the area for the purpose of obtaining controlled substances to be brought back and delivered to others.

The complaint notes that specific information was then obtained on the description of the vehicle Gauthier would be using, the time frame she would be traveling, and the description of the controlled substances she would be carrying.

On Tuesday, June 26, several members of the Troop C Vice Unit and CNET set up positions around exit 60 of Interstate 80. Around 4:30 p.m., they observed Gauthier exiting Interstate 80 eastbound at the exit and traveling north on State Route 66. Several marked and unmarked police vehicles then stopped Gauthier in the parking lot of a convenience store.

Gauthier was detained and a probable cause search of her person and her vehicle were executed. According to the complaint, within her vehicle, the officers found packaging material, a glass smoking device, her identification, and her cell phone. The complaint notes a search of Gauthier herself revealed two syringes, a plastic baggie of pink powder, and a plastic baggie of suspected crack cocaine in her bra.

According to the complaint, Gauthier stated she believed the pink powder was “ground up Opana” (oxymorphone) pills. The complaint notes that Gauthier had communicated with others regarding the delivery of the controlled substances via her cell phone. The officers also discovered her driver’s license was suspended.

Based on the investigation, Gauthier was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (two counts)
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor (two counts)
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (three counts)
– Drive While Operator Privilege Suspended Or Revoked, Summary

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, with Judge Schill presiding.
