James Carl Painter

James Carl Painter, 67, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA went home to be with his Heavenly Father after an acute illness that led to his passing at Summerville Medical Center in Summerville, South Carolina on March 29th, 2015.

Jim was born on September 21st, 1947, the son of the late James Edward and Eleanor (Norie) Painter.

On November 22nd, 1966 Jim married Karen A. (Milliron) Painter and they recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Painter was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served his country.

Jim was a kind, gentle spirit who loved the Lord and exemplified a life lived well. He had an amazing heart full of love, joy and laughter. He will be missed by all who knew him; certainly a life to be celebrated.

He is a beloved husband, father and grandfather who is survived by his wife, Karen A. Painter of Summerville, SC, two daughters, Laurie A. Sisk and husband Jack of Home, PA and Kelly R. Rowley and husband Dale and granddaughter Jenna Rae of Summerville, SC; also three sisters, Karen Lenton of Whittier, CA, Eleanor Haluck of Greensburg, PA, and Mary Lou Jarvis of Warren, OH.

Preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Phyllis Foltz.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 4th from 10am to 1 p.m. at the Shumaker Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, PA.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Chris Golembiowski.
