James E. Stevenson

James E. Stevenson, 78 of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Mr. Stevenson was born July 1, 1937 in Chicora, a son of the late Paul and Mary Ann (Wall) Stevenson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy (Sanner) Stevenson.

James was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator since 1954. He enjoyed fishing, reading, working in his flower garden, bird feeders and camping.

He is survived by two sons; James Stevenson and wife Pamela, Harry Stevenson and wife Joyce all of Punxsutawney, four daughters; Karen Brown and husband Ronald of Rossiter, Sandy Condron and husband Eric of Rochester Mills, Melvina Stevenson and fiance Buddy Bair of Reynoldsville, Michelle Patterson and fiance Rob Phillips of Punxsutawney, two sister’s, Betty Ballard of WA., and Dollie Irving of New Bethlehem. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Peggy, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Harold and William Stevenson and two sisters; Kay Johns and Paulette Houser.

Friends will be received Monday from 3-7 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment is private.
