James G. “Jim” Mills,

James G. “Jim” Mills, 78, Punxsutawney, died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born March 18, 1937, in Clarion County, a son of the late Katheryn L. (Frazier) and James Robert Mills.

On November 2, 1963, he married I. Jane (Rankin) Mills, who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960.

Jim was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Punxsutawney.

He was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School.

Jim enjoyed writing poetry and short stories.

He worked as a welder, a custodian at the local schools, and enjoyed mowing lawns.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two children, a son Jerry Mills of Punxsutawney, and a daughter Sharon Dendler and husband Brad of Lopez, PA; three grandchildren, Brian, Bethany, and Sherilyn Dendler; a brother Raymond Mills and wife Judy of Alliance, OH; a sister-in-law Carol Mills of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Donna Walker, a brother Ron Mills, and an infant brother Henry Mills.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2015, at the funeral home with Reverend Steven Cassidy officiating.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Wesleyan School in Dixonville, PA.
