James “JL” Wilbur Lattimer II

James Wilbur Lattimer II, 68, of Rochester Mills, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Penn Highland Dubois in Dubois, PA, due to complications from a stroke.

He was born on June 20, 1948 in Punxsutawney, PA, a son of the late J. Wilbur & Zillah (Postlewaite) Lattimer.

He married Alice Knox on October 26, 1974 at Covode United Methodist Church. They celebrated 42 years of marriage in October.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

Growing up, he helped in the family 7up Business and delivered 7up.

He worked at Marion Center Supply, Vite Truckin, and Black & Gold Transport, Inc until his retirement in 2013.

He was called JL by his trucking buddies and kept in contact with all of them.

He enjoyed all old Western movies especially his favorite, John Wayne. He was an avid fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.

He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed mowing his own and neighbor’s grass.

Loving survivors include: Wife – Alice Lattimer, Rochester Mills, PA, Children – Jeanna Lattimer, Rochester Mills, PA, Jen and Donnie Plummer, Van Buren, IN, JW & Megan Lattimer, Luthersburg, PA. He was Poppy to Jazmine (Curly) Plummer and James E. David (Smiley) Plummer, both of Van Buren, In. He was anxiously awaiting baby Lattimer.

He is also survived by sisters – Linda and Mike Parsons of Raleigh, NC and Kathleen and Sam Fulmer of Brookview, PA; Father and Mother In-Law – Richard and Aileen Knox; Brother and Sister In-Laws – Grace & Ed Daugherty, Bill & Jeanne Knox, Keith & Fonda Knox, and Kevin & Cathy Knox. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11 am with Pastor Chuck Prevot officiating.
