Jane A. Peace, 73, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born May 31, 1950, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Norma (Smith) and E. Bert Kauffman.
On July 18, 1970, she married Robert D. Peace, who survives.
Jane was a 1968 graduate of the Punxsutawney High School.
She enjoyed crafts, her grandchildren, reading, ceramics, traveling, and going to a monthly lunch with her friends.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Punxsutawney Eagles.
Jane managed a cookie store and then worked as a receptionist for a chiropractor while her and her husband lived in Rochester, NY.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Steve Peace and wife Julie of Rochester, NY, and Jerry Peace and wife Colleen of Rochester, NY; four grandchildren, Martin, Justeen Darren and Shawn Peace; a brother Dan Kauffman and wife Sandy of Brookville, PA; a sister Linda Strawcutter and husband Mark of Indiana, PA; an uncle Bob Smith of Coalport, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ed Bach officiating.
Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery near Cloe.
