Jane B. Reed, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
She was born on December 11, 1934, in Grange, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Alene B. (Humble) and Harry J. Smith. On September 11, 1951, she married William Lloyd Reed. For thirty years Mrs. Reed worked for the former Packard Electric of Warren, Ohio. She wintered in Live Oak, Florida, for the past sixteen years. Mrs. Reed attended the Hartford Methodist Church and the Bethel Creek Baptist church of Live Oak, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, fishing on the family farm pond, sewing, baking and making crafts.
Mrs. Reed is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dolly E. Barnett and a brother, David L. Smith. Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, William L. Reed of Vernon, Ohio; a daughter, Laurie A. (Dennis) Newman of Payson, Arizona; two sons, Steven L. (Melanie) Reed of Spartensburg, Pennsylvania and G. Douglas (Lori) Reed of Johnston, Ohio; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, with one on the way.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with an online guestbook available at www.baumgardnerfuneralhomes.com.
