Jefferson County Man Accused of Hitting Woman with Car, Breaking into Home

BROCKWAY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A Brockway man is facing felony charges after he allegedly reversed his vehicle to hit a woman with its door, then broke into her home and assaulted her again.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 34-year-old Daniel Stephen Miller, of Brockway.

According to a criminal complaint, around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, Daniel Miller and a known female victim became involved in a verbal confrontation at the Brockway VFW in Snyder Township regarding the removal of Miller’s property from the victim’s residence in Brockport.

As the victim was standing behind the open driver’s side door of Miller’s vehicle, Miller placed the vehicle, a white 2005 Jeep Cherokee, in reverse and hit the gas. The victim was struck by the open driver’s side door, which caused the victim to fall to the ground and sustain a bump on the back of her head and a large bruise to the inner part of her left knee, the complaint states.

Miller then fled the scene.

Later that day, around 12:30, Miller went to the victim’s home in Brockport and forced entry through the locked front door, according to the complaint. While inside the residence, Miller and the victim continued the verbal altercation regarding Miller’s property, according to the complaint.

Miller then allegedly engaged the victim in another physical confrontation, knocking her cell phone out of her hand, causing bruising to the upper part of her inner right arm. He then fled the scene, the complaint indicates.

Based on the investigation, Miller was arraigned at 7:18 p.m. on Monday, August 27, in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on the following charges:
