Jefferson County Man Accused of Indecent Assault of Juvenile Waives Hearing

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man waived his hearing Tuesday on indecent assault and other charges related to an incident assault that allegedly occurred in Brookville Borough earlier this year.

Court documents indicate the following charges against 49-year-old John Wayne Kunselman, of Brookville, were waived for court on Tuesday, December 3:

– Unlawful Contact With Minor – Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Years Age, Misdemeanor 2
– Disorder Conduct Hazardous/Physi Offense, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Unable to post $30,000.00 monetary bail, Kunselman remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in March 2019.

According to a criminal complaint, on March 11, Officer Hollobaugh of the Brookville Borough Police Department received a Childline case with a report indicating that John Wayne Kunselman allegedly inappropriately touched a known juvenile victim.

The complaint notes the juvenile victim was interviewed on March 18.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that while laying in a bed with the victim and another juvenile, Kunselman rubbed the victim’s genital area.

Kunselman was interviewed on April 10.

Kunselman gave a similar account of events leading up to the reported touching as the victim, according to the complaint. He allegedly stated he has, the the past, “dry humped” his wife while sleeping, and stated he could have done something similar to the victim while asleep.

The complaint notes that during a second interview, the victim gave the same account, with the same details, as in the initial interview.

The charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak’s office on October 24.
