Jefferson County Man Busted for Drugs After Fleeing Police on Route 219

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a Brockway man was caught in possession of drugs after fleeing police on State Route 219 earlier this month.

Around 11:15 a.m. on August 18, DuBois-based State Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2016 Nissan Altima operated by 27-year-old Tyler Knepp, of Brockway, on State Route 219 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say instead of stopping, Knepp ignored the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren and attempted to flee. Then, after several miles, he stopped his vehicle and fled into the woods on foot.

According to police, Knepp was then caught and taken into custody without further incident.

Police say Knepp was found to be in possession of drugs and related paraphernalia.

He was also found to be driving under the influence, according to police. Charges are pending lab test results.

DuBois-based State Police released the above report on Monday, August 31, 2020.
