Jefferson County Woman Accused of Hitting, Kicking Man While He Was Driving

REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County woman is accused of hitting and kicking a man multiple times while he was driving.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 29-year-old Kari Elaine Rucinski, of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 5:50 a.m. on September 27, Trooper Connor, of the DuBois-based State Police, was assigned to investigate a 9-1-1 hand-up call with a possible domestic incident at a residence on Grant Street in Reynoldsville Borough.

According to the complaint, around 9:00 p.m. on September 26, Kari Rucinski and a known woman became involved in a verbal altercation which ensued throughout the night into the early morning of September 27.

The altercation then turned physical when both Rucinski and the known woman began shoving each other.

Rucinski and a known man both vacated the residence and began to travel toward a location in DuBois. During the trip, Rucinski allegedly struck the man multiple times with both open and closed fists, causing the man’s right eye to bruise and swell. Rucinski also allegedly grabbed the steering wheel while the vehicle was in motion, then slapped and kicked the man multiple times while en route to DuBois.

Upon their arrival in DuBois, Rucinski exited the vehicle, and the man fled the scene.

Based on the investigation, Rucinski was arraigned at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, September 28, in Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers’s office on the following charges:

  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 1
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)
  • Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, with Judge Inzana presiding.
