Joana M. Rocco

Joana M. Rocco, 83, 708 Jackson St., Reynoldsville, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2015, at her home.

Born April 15, 1931, in Reynoldsville, she was a daughter of the late John Perry and Susie Toven.

She was a 1948 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. Before retirement, she worked at IU6 of Clarion as a teacher’s aide for physically handicapped children.

Joana was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reynoldsville and was formerly a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel A. (Peggy) Rocco of Reynoldsville and Francis J. Rocco of Columbus, Ohio; two granddaughters, Brittany (Matthew) Rocco-Willison of Butler and Danielle (Brandon) Ricker of Belle Vernon; and one great-granddaughter, Andraia Ricker of Butler.

Joana was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Marie Rocco; four brothers: Pags, Anthony, Santo and Dominic Perry; and four sisters: Birdie Crooks, Dolly Kukula, Caroline Bendlock and Susan Sarvey.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. Marys Catholic
Church in Reynoldsville with the Rev. Fr. Richard C. Tomasone as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Reynoldsville.
