John Edward “Jack” Carlson Sr.

OI1348400002_JCarlsonphoto[1]John Edward “Jack” Carlson Sr. age 79 of Route 219 (Elbon) Brockport, PA; died on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at his residence.

Born in Elbon on May 24, 1936 he was the son of the late John W. and Emma Faye Bloom Carlson.

He was married to Anna M. Scanish and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2014. Jack was employed at V.T. Smith Dairy for many years, and retired from Brockway Pressed Metals as a Machine Operator.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and was protestant by faith.

He had served as a past Horton Twp. Supervisor.

Jack was an avid baseball fan.

He loved playing ball as well as watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He never missed watching a game on tv.

He is survived by 4 sons: John Carlson Jr; Michael and Diane Carlson; Steven and Barbie Carlson; David and Beth Carlson; 2 daughters: Kathryn and Chris Carlson; Shari and John Hrusth.

He is also survived by 3 brothers: James Carlson; Gary (Sandy) Carlson; Daniel (Jackie) Carlson; 1 sister: Donna Buchheit; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by an infant son Howard John Carlson; a grandson Benjamin Joel Carlson and a brother Willam “Bill” Carlson.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 30 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

A Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating.
