Joseph Henry LaRock

5668734130006[1]Joseph Henry LaRock, 84, Rockton, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Punxsutawney Hospital.

He was born August 30, 1931, in Kinport, PA; son of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Mason) LaRock. He was married to Charmaine (Sallack) LaRock who preceded him in death in 1995.

Joseph was a 1949 graduate of DAHS class of 1949. He served in the US Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren in Sabula. He was a self employed and fleet truck driver for many years, also worked as a mechanic. He was a Union Twp. Supervisor and Road Boss for 18years.

Joseph is survived by four children: Mrs. Randy (Sherry) Sherwood, DuBois, Joseph R. LaRock and wife Tena, DuBois, Jeffrey D. LaRock and wife Rebecca, Beechwoods and Mrs. James (Susan) Jones, N.C., one brother: Harry LaRock, Armaugh, PA, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Joseph was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie LaRock and Grace Yopchick, a great granddaughter, Anna Elaine LaRock and a cousin he was raised with, Margaret Nupp.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 and Saturday, December 12 from 12-1pm at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will be held on Saturday at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rockton Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
