Joy L. Collins

Joy L. Collins, 71, of DuBois, entered the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Sunday Morning, March 18, 2018.

Born on February 7, 1947, she was the very special daughter of the late Alfred M. Collins and Dolores M. (Kougher) Collins.

Joy certainly lived up to her name by spreading her unique exuberance for love and life to everyone who ever met her. She lived her entire life in the DuBois area, graduating from the DuBois Area High School, and, for a time, working at both the Dutch Pantry and C/J Packaging in DuBois.

She was a beloved member of the Tri-County Church in DuBois, and a self-proclaimed “Prayer Warrior” for friends, family, acquaintances, and anyone else in need of her prayers. Joy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading and studying the Bible, completing adult coloring books, and hanging out with her many dear friends at St. Michael Terrace apartments.

She was predeceased by her parents and leaves behind a brother, Robert “Bob” Collins of DuBois; a niece, Cami C. Collins of Monroeville, PA; a nephew, Ian (Shannon) Collins, Ford City, PA; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins, and some very special friends, Vickie, Patty, and Tammy.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. in DuBois. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, March 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed at 11:00 a.m. by the service presided over by Pastor Mark Erickson of the Tri-County Church. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the Clearfield County Area on Aging for their longtime support, the 365 Hospice family for their support in her time of need, and all others who have touched or been touched by our special Joy.

Memorial donations may be made to the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. at 103 North Front Street, Clearfield, PA, 16830 and/or 365 Hospice at 119 South Main Street, Carrolltown, PA. 15722.
