Judge’s Quick Reaction Aids Injured Employee at Jefferson County Courthouse

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Officials say an accident that occurred at the Jefferson County Courthouse on Tuesday could have been far worse if not for the quick reaction of President Judge John H. Foradora.

According to information released by District Court Administrator Chad Weaver, an employee was injured in a fall at the Jefferson County Courthouse on May 25.

Weaver said the fall resulted in a cut to an artery on the employee’s arm, caused by a dish that she was carrying when she fell.

“Without the aid of Judge Foradora applying a homemade tourniquet moments after the incident, the outcome could have been ominous,” Weaver said.

EMTs arrived at the scene a short time later and the injured employee was transferred to DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Weaver said the employee was resting comfortably as of Wednesday morning.
