Judith A. McCelland

jmclellandobitJudith A. McCelland, age 69, of 74 Williamson Rd., Hempfield Twp., Greenville, passed away at 8:41 AM on Tuesday November 4, 2014 in Cleveland Clinic with her family at her side.

Mrs. McCelland was born in Mercer, PA on September 20, 1945 to Rcihard F. and Hazel W. (Pizer) Canon. She was a 1963 graduate of Lakeview High School, and a 1967 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received her B.S. in English Education. In addition, she completed her Masters Degree in English in 1972.

From 1969-1976, she worked as an English teacher at Greenville Senior High School and for over 30 years, she was employed as a Distribution Coordinator at the Werner Co., Greenville.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville. Judy had been a volunteer at UPMC Horizon, Greenville and was a past treasurer of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Greenville Family Moose Center #276 and was a past member of B.P.W. She very much enjoyed her dinner and card clubs, day trips to the casino, traveling to the beach with her family, and she truly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

On December 26, 1970 she married Dennis P. McCelland, he survives at home. Also surviving are a daughter, Kristi A. Stoyer of Hermitage; a son, Richard P. McCelland and his wife Anne of DuBois, PA; a sister Dixie Piper and her husband Gary of Brookville, PA; four grandchildren: Connor and Cole Stoyer and Emily and Madison McCelland.
