Judy Leigh (Garvey) Gluth

Judy Leigh (Garvey) Gluth, age 78, of Route 322 in Brookville, PA, passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday, October 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born on March 1, 1939, to the late Kenneth and Mary Louise (Minich) Garvey, in Jamestown, Chautauqua County, New York.

On November 21, 1959, she married Richard “Dick” Roland Gluth, in Brookville, PA; next month would have marked 58 years of marriage, as Dick survives her.

Judy attended a one-room schoolhouse in Ramsaytown, PA and then the Brookville High School, as a member of the class of 1957.

She worked diligently all her life, assisting in providing for her family.

She held positions at Sylvania in Brookville, PA, Cameron in Reynoldsville, PA, Hill Top Service in Brookville, PA, she was a private caregiver, and for 18 years she served as a cook at the Jefferson Manor Health Center, retiring in April of 2016.

Cooking and baking were more than just jobs for her, she loved to do these things at home for her family.

She loved baking bread for her grandchildren and she made the best homemade fudge, ever.

Her family was the joy of her life and she always found reasons to do nice things for them or simply spend time with them.

Judy was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and very fond of her great-grandchildren, with the most recent addition being born 1 month ago.

She enjoyed shopping and crowned herself the Queen of Black Friday.

Shopping was even more enjoyable when she could go with the girls in her family or her dear friend Therese Galbraith.

Judy had a beautiful personality and a wonderful sense of humor.

Her laugh was contagious and she was so concerned for the well-being of her family and friends, even before her own comfort.

All her family, friends, and co-workers, will miss her dearly, and think of her fondly.

In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by 2 sons; Richard W. (Susan) Gluth of Washington, PA; David M. (Ann) Gluth of Corry, PA; 1 daughter; Kelly A.
