Jury Says Jefferson County Man Not Guilty of Sex Charges

Jefferson County CourthouseBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl was found not guilty Monday in the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

According to Chad Weaver, District Court Administrator, the jury deliberated for about 90 minutes before delivering their verdicts.

Brookville Borough Police filed criminal charges against 38-year-old David D. Jackson, of Sigel, stemming from an incident that was alleged to have occurred on June 2, 2015.

According to a criminal complaint, on June 2, 2015, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Brookville Borough Police Officer Markle was advised that an 11-year-old girl disclosed to her parents that she was inappropriately touched by David Jackson.

He was charged with one third-degree felony and four misdemeanors:

  • Indecent Assault Without Consent and
  • Indecent Assault Person Less than 16 Years of Age
  • Corruption of Minors, Defendant Age 18 and above
  • Indecent Assault Person Less Than 13 years of Age
  • Corruption of Minors

He was found not guilty on all charges Monday before Jefferson County President Judge John H. Foradora.

Jackson was represented by DuBois attorney Gary A. Knaresboro.

Jefferson County District Attorney Jeffrey Burkett and Assistant District Attorney Tabia Jeonna Marie Cole tried the case for the Commonwealth.
