Karen L. (Hetrick) Henry, 74, of Punxsutawney, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
She was born August 25, 1948, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Lula (Mowrey) and Earl Hetrick.
On October 3, 1970, she married Russell C. Henry, Jr., who survives.
Karen was a 1966 graduate of the Punxsutawney High School.
She furthered her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania earning her bachelor’s degree in French Education in 1970.
Karen attended One Life Church in Punxsutawney.
She enjoyed her cats, bird watching, and feeding the birds.
Karen adored her grandson Luc and was a caregiver to her parents and her family.
She worked as a substitute teacher in Punxsutawney for twenty-five years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Chrissie Henry Brisebois and husband Keith of Canaan, NY; a grandson Luc Henry Brisebois; a sister Joyce Reed of Punxsutawney; sister-in-law Elaine Williams and husband Danny of Cranberry, PA; brother-in-law Les Milliron of Punxsutawney; nephew Shawn Milliron and wife Patty of Punxsutawney; and two nieces, Lauren McKinney and husband Jason of Sligo and Kirsten Williams Kiesel and husband Ron of Burgettstown, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister LouEtta Milliron, brother-in-law Elmer Reed, and in-laws Russell C. Henry, Sr. and Elaine Henry.
A private funeral service will be held for Karen with Pastor Guy Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Dora Cemetery.
