Lance Marshall


Lance Marshall, of Juniata Street, DuBois, PA, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, surrounded by his family.

Born on October 16, 1954, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Donald and Madeline (Meholick) Marshall. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives and lives in DuBois, PA.

On December 2, 1972, he married Debbie (Siverling) Marshall. She survives. They recently celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Lance spent his entire career working for the City of DuBois. He retired as the Director of the Redevelopment Authority and recently ended his 4-year term as city treasurer.

He was a 1972 graduate of the DuBois Area High School, where he was active in many sports. He attended Mansfield University where he played football and graduated with a degree in Regional Planning and Development. He later attended Clarion University where he earned his teaching certificate in Secondary Social Studies and Geography.

He was a member of the Nativity Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in DuBois, where he was an usher and bingo volunteer. He was also a member of the DuBois Kiwanis Club and spent many years coaching youth sports in the DuBois Area.

He is survived by 4 children, Jason Marshall & his wife Anne Marie of Louisville, KY, Brandon Marshall of Fenton, MI, Nicole Marshall of DuBois, PA and Nicholas Marshall of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Michael Marshall and his wife Grace of DuBois, PA, and Todd Marshall of Force, PA; and a sister, Dawn Cekovsky and her husband Robert of Big Run, PA.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Parastas service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. from the Nativity Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Vasyl Banyk as celebrant.

Burial will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Sykesville, PA.

Memorials by be placed with the Nativity Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church, 920 Howard Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801 and/or the American Red Cross, 109 North Brady Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
