Lewella J. “Sally” Minick

Lewella J. “Sally” Minick, 84, Ramseytown Road, Brookville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center

Born Jan. 25, 1929 in Stanton, she was a daughter of the late Ran and Sidney Enterline Sowers.

Lewella was married to Melvin M. Minick who preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1981.

She worked for Sylvania and Whitebrook in Brookville, and retired as a licensed practical nurse from the Jefferson Manor in Brookville after many years

She was a past member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Brookville. During her retirement, she loved playing and singing music and hymns for various church groups and organizations.

She is survived by one son, Melvin R. Minick of Brookville; three sisters: Dorothy Barnett, Betty Barnett and Jane Fidel, all of Erie; two grandchildren, Tracy Miller and Mike McCracken; three step-grandchildren, Kelly Matthews, Kristy McMasters and Kimberly Lyons and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Shaffer and Molly Minick, and one brother, Robert Minick

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at McKinney Funeral Home of Brookville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Eddy officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Ramseytown.
